Teacher's Day Celebration

“Teaching is a profession that teaches all other professions”.

The Heritage School, Vasant Kunj celebrated the Teacher’s Day on 3rd September 2010 with this thought in heart. The programme initiated with the assembly presented by Class 8th C having been compared by Arushi and Muskan. The welcome speech to mark the occasion was orated by Disha Sharma followed by an awareness spark from Parisha Singh and Arpit Goyal. The thought for the day was shared by Vanshika Rastogi. To awaken our thoughts towards our teachers a skit ‘To Sir With Love’ was performed by Arushi, Nikhil, Shubham, Mehar, Arya, Arpit, Arjit, Anandita, Muskan, Tanishk, Shreeji and Neelish. A thought provoking article was given by Arya Bhat, to which a poem by Disha Sharma made the day special for the teachers. The students and teachers were made to feel musical by a band performance by Mehar, Vanshika, Tanya, Amitosh, Nikhil, Idha,Dhurv and Dhananjay on the song “Let it Be”. Class 8th concluded its assembly by handing over the stage to Japneet Suri and Srishti Malik of class 12th B who shared the relevance of the teachers in their lives which was led by lighting the lamp of vision and success and paying respect to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. The next to add a silent smile on all the faces was a poem “A Teacher for all seasons” by Shivani Mathur 12th A. The day was made lively by an enthralling dance performance by Vedanta, Mayank, Rishabh, Pratekk, Varun, Mohit, Harsh ita, Sukriti, Siddhant, Madhu, Shivani, Sunakshi, Kavya,Yash, Shreya and Harpreet. This was followed by Ms. Neena Kaul Ma'am sharing her views on the occasion. The programme was concluded by Japneet and Srishti thanking all the teachers for being a part of their lives and making them feel so special and becoming good human beings. After the assembly ended the students proceeded to their respective classes with their student teachers, which was a distinguished experience for class 11th and 12th students who stepped into the shoes of their teachers for the first time and felt touched with the role of teachers in the class. The teachers were also gifted with a presentation prepared by Ayush Gupta and Esh ita Thukral of class 12th preserving their memories together.

Janamashtami Celebration

On September 1, 2010 Janamashtami was celebrated with great joy and fervor in the school assembly conducted by Pre School B. Myra Gandhi and Nikhil Arora of Pre School B introduced the program followed by Aveer Jaggi and Yanni Kulshreshtha explaining the significance of Janamashtami. Lavanya shared the “गीता सार and गत भाव कथक”. A short story on Radha Krishna was shared by all the students. Students enjoyed singing and dancing to the tunes of छोटी छोटी गैया और कवित्त कृष्ण सखा. Sarah Chadha and Vrinda Bhola concluded the program. The teachers danced with the children and also shared the story of Birth of Lord Krishna. The students of classes I and II danced on Krishna Bhajans. Raghavendra Singh of Class II shared around 40 different names of Lord Krishna. Parent Volunteer Ms. Babita Sharma contributed by decorating the stage beautifully. We also thank Ms. Seema Gadha, Ms. Shivani Prasad and Ms. Nidhi Wadhi Chadha for their contribution. This was followed by students of class I decorating a beautiful mandir in the school corridor with flowers and images of Lord Krishna. Chandan Tikka was put on everyone’s forehead and everyone threw flowers as a symbol of their faith. The students of class II decorated Mattkis as a part of Janamashtami celebration. The Heritage Family wishes everybody a very Happy Janamashtami.

Morning Assembly (III - XII)

On 26^th August, 2010 the morning assembly was jointly conducted by the students of XII A and C. The theme was an issue of concern for all "Are we prepared for the Commonwealth Games?" Shivani Mathur did the comparing, a thought was shared by Sharvil Goel and a thought provoking article was read by Sumit Sharma. Reha Singh reported about the developments happening around us through the news. Sana Parti and Vedanta Attri initiated an interactive session with the audience to build perspective on "How prepared are we for the CWG". The icing on cake was hilarious skit presented by Mayank Taneja, Madhu Khatri, Vedanta Attri, Anubhav Sharma, Vaibhav Khatpalia, Sharvil Goe, Shivani Mathur and Pranav Puri. The assembly culminated with National Anthem.

19^th Vasant Valley Theatre Festival

The Heritage school, Vasant Kunj inaugurated the 19^th Vasant Valley Theatre Festival on 25^thAugust 2010 with the 1^st performance “The Heritage 24x7”.

The performance was appreciated by one and all as it was unique and we justified the theme “Hey! How Come!” The whole class V was the audience along with other 15 schools. All the participants were from V. Ms. Ritu Sehgal, Ms. Sujata Vohra and Ms. Monika Jain accompanied the class along with Mr. Vikramditya and Ms. Lahana Kulshreshtha

Parent Teacher Meeting

Teachers of the Classes Pre School – XII had an interactive sharing session with the parents in their respective classrooms on 21st August 2010. They discussed about the progress of the children and the curriculum of the forthcoming months with the parents. Despite heavy rains lashing the city and causing water clogging and traffic jams, many parents made the meeting a success.
