“Teaching is a profession that teaches all other professions”.
The Heritage School, Vasant Kunj celebrated the Teacher’s Day on 3rd September 2010 with this thought in heart. The programme initiated with the assembly presented by Class 8th C having been compared by Arushi and Muskan. The welcome speech to mark the occasion was orated by Disha Sharma followed by an awareness spark from Parisha Singh and Arpit Goyal. The thought for the day was shared by Vanshika Rastogi. To awaken our thoughts towards our teachers a skit ‘To Sir With Love’ was performed by Arushi, Nikhil, Shubham, Mehar, Arya, Arpit, Arjit, Anandita, Muskan, Tanishk, Shreeji and Neelish. A thought provoking article was given by Arya Bhat, to which a poem by Disha Sharma made the day special for the teachers. The students and teachers were made to feel musical by a band performance by Mehar, Vanshika, Tanya, Amitosh, Nikhil, Idha,Dhurv and Dhananjay on the song “Let it Be”. Class 8th concluded its assembly by handing over the stage to Japneet Suri and Srishti Malik of class 12th B who shared the relevance of the teachers in their lives which was led by lighting the lamp of vision and success and paying respect to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. The next to add a silent smile on all the faces was a poem “A Teacher for all seasons” by Shivani Mathur 12th A. The day was made lively by an enthralling dance performance by Vedanta, Mayank, Rishabh, Pratekk, Varun, Mohit, Harsh ita, Sukriti, Siddhant, Madhu, Shivani, Sunakshi, Kavya,Yash, Shreya and Harpreet. This was followed by Ms. Neena Kaul Ma'amsharing her views on the occasion. The programme was concluded by Japneet and Srishti thanking all the teachers for being a part of their lives and making them feel so special and becoming good human beings. After the assembly ended the students proceeded to their respective classes with their student teachers, which was a distinguished experience for class 11th and 12th students who stepped into the shoes of their teachers for the first time and felt touched with the role of teachers in the class. The teachers were also gifted with a presentation prepared by Ayush Gupta and Esh ita Thukral of class 12th preserving their memories together.
