Assessment is the process of gathering information about the child’s idea thinking skills and attitudes. The sources of gathering evidences about their performance are their actions (what the children do or say) and the products of their work (what they write, draw, make or set up). Teachers observe and identify the quality of both the process and product of children’s learning, on a daily basis, so as to be able to support and facilitate their learning by providing them with regular and need specific feedback, rather than testing and judging only at the end of a unit. This process of on-going assessment provides children with opportunities to think and reflect their learning, giving them scope for self evaluation.
