The continuous learning process in the Heritage School strives to prepare the students to face the physical, psychological, social, economic and academic challenges of life. The school has a firm belief in the fact that the mental health and well being of the students requires the fullest attention so as to develop the fullest human resources potentialities of its students. There is an unprecedented opportunity to improve lives of young people and thus the School has a Counseling Centre.
The school has a Counseling Centre which is run by a qualified Student Counsellor. We make a personal profile of each child at the time of admission and update it at the end of each semester. This enables us to access the child and, if required, admit the child in AEP (Academic Enrichment Programme) and PEP(Personality Enrichment Programme) from time to time.
The Center’s effort lies in early identification of any underlying behaviour, emotional, physical and psychological problems. Every student progressing through School faces certain problems and has to make decisions at various times during his/her School career. The School guidance-counseling program has one of its basic objectives – the task of helping each pupil solve these problems or in gathering information essential for making wise decision.
This includes:
Counseling Students
- To achieve clear understanding and acceptance of himself /herself and his/her strength and limitations, interest, aptitudes skills and abilities.
- To understand the choice he/she faces – the opportunities open to him/her and the qualification required for the goal he/she sets for himself/herself.
- To help rationalize his/her own decisions and plans on the basis of self understanding have knowledge of choices open to him/her and agreement with his /her parents based on these understanding.
New Admission / Orientation
To develop strong relationship with parents and bridge differing perspectives of growth and learning the parents are oriented about the School-learning program. Parents and students are oriented before the first day of School so that the student understands the School learning procedures and School climate so as to reduce higher anxiety level.
Students Appraisal
In order to understand a student and help him/her to develop a better understanding of self, information about his/her family, interest, abilities and general behaviour pattern is acquired from the parents.
The Counsellor and parents in lieu with the School’s learning paradigm work an intervention plan.

Research
From time to time surveys are done to understand working of various variables to understand working of various variables (teachers, student, parents) and their mutual interaction pattern.
After evaluation of the surveys new methods are also incorporated.
Based on the feedback of specialist, teachers, parents or students, continuous Class observation is done so as to assess the class climate and learning style incorporated by the learners.
Underprivileged Section
The students of under privileged section of society who are a part of the regular educational stream are given extensive educational support. Their emotional and psychological needs are taken care of by the “Akansha Club” which works in lieu with the counseling centre.
